To Blog or Not to Blog

I am absolutely new to Blogging. I had never even heard of it until last week.
Looking at different sites I'm wondering...What are they for?
I've seen a lot of arguing, some fun conversations, a little encouragement, journaling, preaching (of sorts), and plain old venting.
Are there rules, should there be rules? Should there be a certain criteria for use?
One I came across was a church...Conversation, hmmm. A couple in contrast, seemed friendly enough. A really obscure one. (WOW!) And then there was a blog that just appeared to be a chat line.
So someone help me...Just what is the purpose of (blog)?
Before we actually type and then say "if I've offended anyone, I'm sorry" (I've seen that one a lot) maybe there should be a pleliminary action, such as...Hitting a book of manners, hitting one's head against the computer, hitting the alter.
Be ye careful...Someone is reading!

Languages of Love

I was watching television late the other night (as I tend to have to with two small children), and saw a man talking about the languages of love in a seminar type setting. His message was like a huge light bulb going off. He said there are three types of languages of love.....tell me, show me, and touch me. This seem pretty obvious, but I had never thought of it before.

The tell me's are people who are lifted up by hearing praise and the words "I Love YOU".

The show me's are people who really feel loved by the things that people do for them to show their love.

The touch me's are people who love to be hugged, kissed, patted on the back, etc...

After hearing him speak about this I realized a few things about myself and the people around me. I am not really a tell me kind of person, I like to hear I love you (especially from my children when it is not prompted), but it really means a whole lot more when the kids clean up without having to be asked. Not just because it saves me from having to get on them so much, but it makes me feel like they love me and want me to be happy. It makes me feel great when I wake up to a hot pot of coffee, because I know that behind the jokes of "I don't want you to be a grouch", there is a genuine show of love. I AM A SHOW ME. My husband is a tell me, or at least I think he is, maybe I will learn more about him through this.

So my question for today is do we really take the time to find out what our language of love is? Do we think about the people we care about, and how they may need to be loved in a different way than we do, or think they do.

Ok, don't forget to spill the beans and "tell me" what your language of love is so that I can love you better too.

Should We Dance With Mary Jane?

Marijuana, yes it is an illegal drug, which many people have debated over whether or not it should be legalized. What do you think? Are pills that people take any different? Most pills (if not all), have some sort of side effect (nausea, abdominal pain, headaches, break down of immune system, etc......................................). So really what is the diffence between those and pot? The question is based on medicinal purposes of course, but feel free to go into your social use opinions as well.

(Don't worry, I don't dance with Mary, just wondering what is the difference)

Church Or No Church That Is The Question?

Hebrews 11:24-25

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

What does this mean? Do we have to attend a "CHURCH" to be a Christian? What are our responsibilities when it comes to fellowship with other Christians? It's definitely something that racks my brain frequently!

Jim wants to know!!!!

Welcome

Welcome all who are interested in speaking your minds. Watch your mouth there are children present!
