A New Attitude

Habakkuk 3:17-18
Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

From this verse we can really learn about the attitude God wants us to have. There are so many other verses that really go along with and mean the same thing, but I really like this one. Habakkuk is basically saying, "My crops are bare. I have no animals. My way of making a living is non existent, but hey, I am going to CHOOSE to rejoice in God my Savior." Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all have this kind of an attitude. If we didn't look at all the bad things going on and say, I am defeated. If we looked at this things and felt blessed anyway. A new way to look at things might be the reason we are being attacked by the enemy is because we really love Jesus and it really ticks satan off. Otherwise, why would the enemy be coming after us so hard? Habakkuk said in light of everything going on around him that he was going to rejoice in God. He didn't say God change my surroundings, fix all my problems, simply I will rejoice in the Lord. I think many of us make the mistake of asking God to change other people and our surroundings so much that we forget to praise God and ask him to help change our attitude towards that situation. God knows exactly where we are supposed to be. He knows what we are supposed to be doing with these situations. I urge you to make an attitude change so you can stop trying to change others and your situation, and listen to what God wants you to do with the situation.
